Original Blessing – 14 x 18″

I first named this collage “Original Sin”, but soon changed it as I never bought into the negative interpretation of what happened when Eve was tempted to eat the apple. I choose to believe that the apple represents something altogether different, such as in Greek mythology where it is associated with Aphrodite the goddess of love. However, my favorite interpretation of the apple is as a symbol of “the all”, or “the complete”, which we all are. Perhaps the word temptation really meant “test”, as in a test-ament to who and what we truly are, all one. Hence, Eve was being drawn to discover her true nature, being one with God, and to help Adam to do the same.
