For over 12 years I traveled the US for my corporate job, dreaming of the day when I could become a full time artist a second time (full story here). I repeatedly asked the Universe (all 12 years) to make it “damn obvious” when would be the highest good time to quit. In 2018, I finally received a crystal clear sign to stop my traveling day gig and once again embraced life as full time artist.
What I didn’t realize as I traveled for 12 years was . . .
. . . how little art I would create once I got here. The reality is that I spend 80% of my time on the art business (which includes creating workshops) and 20% creating art. And even though I’m WAY busier now than when I worked full time as a corporate trainer, I love every moment of the sweet artist life that I’m blessed to live.
Now I’m following the signs again.
Actually I never stopped.
Since quitting my day gig 4 1/2 years ago, I’ve asked the Universe many times to make it crystal clear how my art can serve the highest good. And slowly the answers have trickled in, starting with finding my voice as an intuitive collage artist a couple years ago.
Then in January of this year, it became damn obvious that it was finally time to teach others my sacred collage process. Since then I’ve quickly learned to film art classes by participating in two art summits, followed by creating COLLAGE KICKSTART (a free 5-day course), and am now developing COLLAGE JOY, a 6-week intensive version of KICKSTART.
I have no idea what’s next.
And I’m ok with not knowing because I’ve learned that the Universe is constantly sending signs, even though usually small and subtle. It’s my job to listen and follow, even when some take 12 years to become damn obvious!
It is nice to see that dreams do come true with a lot of hard work
And persistence. So deserving for you Catherine as you have been working so hard towards this goal. I am enjoying your tune in Tuesdays at 2. You have a wonderful down to earth personality and are fun to watch on camera. I am looking forward to collage joy.
Keep shining
Dianne
XOXO
Dianne,
I am so deeply touched that you read 4 of my blog posts, and commented on each of them. Thank you for your endearing support of my life’s passion, and allowing me to inspire a bit of your art journey. I consider it a true honor to walk this path along side you.
Blessings my friend,
Cat
I always love reading your story and how you came to be a full-time artist! I thoroughly enjoy your Tuesdays at 2:00. I’ve been camping and out of town for a couple of Tuesdays, so now I get to go back and watch your taped versions on Instagram. However, I prefer to watch them live!! 🙂
I am so touched that you took the time to share how my story resonated with you. And I LOVE that you want to join me for TUNE IN live. I am truly honored. Hope to see you Tuesday!
