Day 19 – 11 years to create one collage?

Its FINALLY time to show what I’ve been working on.  For some reason, showing what I’m currently creating makes me very vulnerable.  It’s fun talking ABOUT art. Showing my art in progress is a whole different matter. But here goes, I’m taking the plunge….

This is a picture of my sister Wendy when she was less than a year old, and it has always been one of favorites. Her reaching arms intrigue me – what is she reaching for (other than a Christmas ornament)?

I worked for months and months with this image, creating a collage in 2004 that my sister and father loved (or at least they said they loved it!), but it really didn’t do that much for me. Hard to show work that isn’t that great, but I’m closing my eyes and sharing it with you anyways…

STILL convinced that my sister’s adorable photo would make a great collage, I recently started working with it all over again. I’d love for you to join my journey to create a collage that finally speaks to my soul using my “favorite” sister’s picture (we’ve always called each other “favorite” even though it’s just the two of us!)

And it all starts with this…
