I’ve made it to day 30 of my challenge to do art everyday, and get up at 5am to do it! Yahooooooo!!!!!
Now what? This worked so well, I don’t want to stop. But before I start another challenge, and perhaps extend this one, I want to consider what worked and didn’t work with the one I’m just ending.
What worked well?
- I loved the commitment to do art EVERYDAY. I easily followed through with this one, even if “art” was to write on my blog and take an Instragram class to learn how to share my art. It is ALL art in my book, and oh so fun.
What didn’t work as well?
- Holding me to the 5am wake up call while on the road for my day job. I did it because a commitment is a committment, but when working from a hotel room, creating actually happened at night because the mornings are just too jammed packed with getting ready for work. Although I will continue to get up at 5am while in my home studio, which is a great way to carve out uninterrupted time to collage, while on the road, I will be more flexible with the time of my wake up call!
My challenge starting tomorrow?
To do art each and every day for the next 335 days!
This means actually creating, not just doing the business of art. I intend to work on a collage for a minimum of 1 hour each day. That will make a full year of doing art when I add on the last 30 days. Wow, I can’t even imagine how much I will accomplish with so many hours to create.
So let me do the math here. If I create a minimum of 1 hour each day, multiplied by 335 days, that is a minimum of 335 hours of creating!!! And since 1 hour usually turns into 2-3 hours, I will be creating a whole boat load of art!
Now I’m excited – I’m following my dream come true EVERY day, no excuses.
Good for you on keeping the commitment. I’m excited to see all that art you create!
